Pop art informs the depths of our self awareness, at least on an unconscious level for most of us. As children we find our identities in that which we resonate with most—whether it’s Spider-Man, Superman, Macho Man Randy Savage, Cat Woman, or Wonder Woman. Our unique self becomes attracted to that which we truly resonate with. We can think of these mythic passions of ours as the development of our own personal Totems. Our popular culture and the many characters of its history has provided us with a rich pool of totemic mythic reference, highlighting our expanding spectrum knowledge as well as inspiring us and guiding us toward what brings us our own unique joy. The worlds and characters of films have become mirrors of aspects of ourselves and the infinite universes to be brought to light, constantly updating our lives with new meaning and understanding in our fast paced times. We use these films and metaphors to describe how and who we are, and the metaphors only work because they sync our environment with ourselves.
